A tribute to a fallen angel - Aunty Vero

KK Bloggers,
It's been a minute hasn't it? Sorry for the suspense but it's been kindda rough the past few months.

Last year Christmas was one of our worst Christmas' ever, in that, KK's seamstress, my business partner and ultimately my favorite aunt, Ms Veronica Amo-Darko, passed away ....oh too soon. She was one of the reasons why I decided to embark on this journey of ; she was KK's ying to its yang; a beautiful soul. And for that reason, I have debated if to pursue this journey or to call it quits because the pain was just too unbearable. But after much soul searching, I realized that to continue and press-on is what she would have wanted. Also, if we had called it quits, all her efforts would have been put to waste. We have come to grips with it and in the next coming weeks, we will be in (re-vamped) full service mode........We'd like celebrate her life.........hence all proceeds from every purchase made with KK will be used to support her cause and her only child in getting her back on her feet to face life without her mother.

It would be an injustice if I didn't share out thoughts about what a wonderful soul she was. So here goes:

The news of your death left us pained and confused. As we remembered your time here on earth, the adjective ‘favourite’ is very deserving because you were always there for us and for that we are forever grateful. We were blessed because we knew the love of two mothers –yours and mummy’s. Your departure was sudden and has definitely taken a toll on our livelihood. Nevertheless, we find some solace in the wonderful memories we did build together and sincerely thank the good Lord for making you a part of our lives.

Memories of your famous tape measure that you always used to carry around will always bring a smile to our lips. Aunty always insisted on taking our measurements; maybe it was the seamstress in her but we believe it was her subtle way of keeping tabs on our growth and development. Your infectious laugh and words of wisdom will always be imprinted in our hearts.  This and many other fond memories are all we have left of our dear Aunty.

For many people you were many times; for us you were  and continue to be a mother, an aunt, a business partner, a confidante, a listening ear, a watchful eye,  a friend, a mentor, a teacher but more importantly you were ‘Aunty’ and you will forever hold a place in our hearts as someone who made a difference. We may have not told you often how much you meant to us and how much we love you, however we only hope that our actions in some shape or form did make you feel loved during your time on earth.

Your journey as a guardian angel here on earth was cut short as your presence was needed with your kind up in heaven.  We shall never part ways from your teachings and great words of wisdom. It is very hard and painful to say goodbye to someone so close and dear to our hearts, nevertheless we stay comforted that your work continues on elsewhere but your spirit lingers in our hearts and your memories shall forever be paramount. Farewell dear and beautiful Aunty Adwoa, our guardian angel on earth.
